The machine can be used for LASIK / PRK / LASEK / PTK - ORK "customized ablation", as per the individual needs of a patient.
The wavefront analyser provides a complete analysis of the aberrations of the entire eye which are necessary in order to perform "wavefront guided" customized ablations. The Keratron scout is the first topography unit to accurately represent the local curvature calculated by an "Arc-Step" method.

| Surgery: What to Expect Before, During and After |
You'll need a complete eye examination by your refractive surgeon. Take your eye prescription records with you to the exams. Your doctor would dilate your pupils to fine-tune your prescription. He would then take the following measurements:
The topography of your eyes to make sure you don't have an irregular astigmatism or a cone-shaped cornea
The pachymetry — or thickness of your cornea.
Lasik is an outpatient surgical procedure. The only anesthetic is an eye drop that numbs the surface of the eye. The procedure takes 10 to15 minutes for each eye.
Healing is relatively fast, but you may want to take a few days off after the surgery.
