Cataract is the clouding of the lens within the eye usually an ageing process. It can also be present at birth (congenital) or develop in young people if heritable.

Symptoms of a cataract include:

  • Clouded, blurred or dim vision
  • Increasing difficulty with vision at night
  • Sensitivity to light and glare
  • Halos around lights
  • Need for brighter light for reading
  • Frequent changes in eyeglass
  • Fading or yellowing of colors
  • Double vision in a single eye

 
Phaco
